Turkish police seize huge haul of smuggled cigarettes

Turkish police have seized over 16,000 packets of cigarettes in southeastern Şırnakprovince.

The contraband cigarettes were found on Jan. 25 hidden under a trailer truck, according to security sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

The truck driver was taken into custody on smuggling charges, Hurriyet Daily News reports.
