One soldier was killed and three police officers were wounded in a clash with Kurdish militants in southeastern Turkey's Nazimiye on Monday, security sources said.
PKK terrorists launched simultaneous attacks against police headquarters, gendarmerie command and district governorate in the dead of the night to infiltrate the town. The attacks were repelled, however, as clashes still continue in rural areas in the district, Reuters reports.
Authorities imposed a round-the-clock curfew on Nazimiye as security forces, backed by attack helicopters, sealed the area and sent in reinforcements, security sources said.
