Turkmenistan’s representative to CIS appointed

Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Byashimmyrat Hodzhamammedov, has been appointed the country’s representative to the Economic Council of CIS member states. The corresponding decree was signed by Turkmenistan’s President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

Referring to the status of permanent neutrality recognized and supported by the UN, Ashgabat adopted a decision in 2005 to participate in the CIS structure as an associate member, Trend reports.
