A large banner dedicated to the Great Patriotic War was installed on one of the central streets of Russia's Tver.
"Greetings, Azerbaijan! It provided up to 85% of the fuel to the Soviet army during the Great Patriotic War," the banner says.
It also says that during the years of the Great Patriotic War, more than 640 thousand people from the republic went off to war, of whom more than 350 thousand did not return home.
