Dagestani firefighters managed to localize dry grass and forest litter fires in two districts of the republic. The area of one of them exceeds 33 hectares.
The spread of two major fires was prevented in Dagestan, the regional EMERCOM reports.
The fire emergencies occurred in the Untsukulsky and Tsumadinsky districts.
The fire in the Untsukulsky district was localized on 33 hectares, most of this area is occupied by forest lands. On August 25, the fire began in a hard-to-reach area 5.2 km from the village of Untsukul, and at first, its area was 2.5 hectares. However, the fire then spread to 30.5 hectares.
The fire in the Tsumadinsky district is smaller: it covers over 8.4 hectares.
