 Two man trying to sell uranium detained in Georgia

Two individuals were detained in Georgia's Kobuleti region for the illegal possession and sale of radioactive materials, the Georgian State Security Service reported.

"The total weight of the nuclear material is 40.19 gr and it contains radioactive isotope - uranium-238. The confiscated substance poses a risk to human health and life," Agenda.ge cited the statement as saying.

The detainees wanted to sell uranium for $2.8 million.   

The crime is punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison.
