Members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have attacked a military unit in the province of Mardin in southeastern Turkey, leaving two dead and 14 servicemen injured, local media report.
Turkish armed forces launched large-scale operations against the PKK after the attack, Trend reports with reference to the Yeni Şafak newspaper.
PKK attacks on military units and police stations have increased. Over 200 Turkish servicemen were killed in clashes with the PKK last year.
