The Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline project will increase Russia’s political influence in Europe, U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry said, speaking at a conference in Vilnius.
"It would increase Russia’s leverage over Europe’s foreign policy and Europe’s vulnerability to a supply disruption," Reuters cited him as saying.
According to Perry, it would enable Moscow to end gas transit through Ukraine.
