The UEFA President shared his impressions of the performance of the Georgian national team at the European Football Championship in Germany.
Alexander Čeferin noted that the way the Georgian national team played proved that it deservedly qualified for the tournament.
"At Euro 2024, we saw the Georgian national team, which deserved to be here",
the UEFA President said.
He added that the decision to increase the number of Euro participants from 16 to 24 teams was correct. Under the new format, the teams of Georgia and Slovenia were able to take part in the tournament.
Speaking about the players who impressed him at this championship, Čeferin named Georgian midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who plays for the Italian football club Napoli.
