The Minister for the European Neighbourhood Wendy Morton arrived in Azerbaijani city of Baku, according to Morton's official Twitter page.
"Salam Bakı, Azərbaycan! As the first UK Foreign and Development Minister to visit Azerbaijan, I will be working closely with Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs to advance women’s rights - ensuring they have more opportunities in business and politics and can be safe from violence," she wrote.
On her first visit to Azerbaijan, Morton will attend the annual UK-Azerbaijan Strategic Dialogue Summit (9 February) and sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries to expand the partnership in environmental and climate issues.
