The UN Secretary General will come to Kazakhstan in a week to participate in the SCO summit. The relevant information was confirmed by António Guterres himself.
"I will have meetings with other organizations, from small ones such as CARICOM (Caribbean Community — editor's note) to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which includes more than half the world's population",
the UN Secretary General said.
He also focused on the fact that such international associations as the SCO, BRICS, the African Union or the OIC should become fundamental partners of the UN, TASS reports.
According to the UN chief, sometimes regional organizations are able to cope with problems that the UN cannot solve.
"In this regard, they are important partners for us, whether it is the African Union or the European Union",
António Guterres said.
