UNM weighs boycott of Georgian parliament

The United National Movement party may again boycott the parliament and even leave it, UNM member Nugzar Tsiklauri said.

"It is quite possible that it will start with a boycott of the parliament and steps will be taken in this direction. And the next possible step is us completely withdrawing from the parliament," he said, stressing that now is the time to make important decisions and decisive steps, Sputnik Georgia reported.

United National Movement MP Tina Bokuchava said that the opposition should not focus on the boycott. "I think that's not the issue we need to focus on, since discussing this issue all the time takes us away from much more serious goals," she said.

After consultations with the Georgian ex-president, the founder of the party, Mikheil Saakashvili, UNM MP Levan Khabeishvili said intends to organize large-scale protests aimed at calling early parliamentary elections and a further change of power.
