US Ambassador to Russia vows to work towards ‘stable, predictable’ relations with Russia

US Ambassador to Russian John Sullivan is ready to work to achieve stable and predictable relationship between Russia and the US, Sullivan said Thursday, TASS reports.

"Arrived back in Moscow today. Ready to work with the [US Embassy in Russia] team toward progress on US foreign policy priorities, and with Russia on our goal of a stable and predictable relationship between our countries," US Embassy spokesman Jason P. Rebholz quoted him as saying in his Twitter.

The Russian-American escalations plunged after the notorious interview of US President Joe Biden, in which he said that Russia will have to "pay the price" for the alleged meddling in the US elections, and in which Biden, when asked whether he considers Vladimir Putin a "killer," answered in an affirmative. After the interview, Russia recalled its Ambassador Anatoly Antonov for consultations. US Ambassador Sullivan departed to Washington for consultations on April 22.

During the June 16 summit in Geneva, the sides agreed to bring their envoys back. Russian Ambassador Antonov returned to Washington on June 20.
