Yesterday at their plenary meeting, members of the US House of Representatives celebrated the 130th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli for the first time, the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Los Angeles stated today.
In connection with this significant date, a congressman from Arizona, Paul Gosar, spoke at the meeting, noting in his speech that all over the world, on September 18th, the Day of Uzeyir Hajibeyli is celebrated. He spoke about the role of the legendary composer in the development of Azerbaijani classical music and the formation of its historical and cultural heritage, Trend reports.
