US Federal Reserve increases rates

The Open Market Committee of the US Federal Reserve System has made a decision to increase the interest rate to 0.375% per annum.

Prior to that, it was at a record low of 0-0.25% from June 29th, 2006.

At the same time, some analysts predicted that it could be increased even higher, to 0.5%, but the US Federal Reserve has decided to be moderate, RIA Novosti reports.
