US President Donald Trump submitted a candidacy of Utah’s former Governor Jon Huntsman to the Senate for an approval to the post of the country’s ambassador to Russia, the White House press service reported.
The White House reported that President Trump sent to the Senate a letter of nomination for "Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., of Utah, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Russian Federation."
Huntsman served as the governor of the US state of Utah between 2005 and 2009.
