The US State Department spokesperson John Kirby told a press briefing that the US does not agree that it is loosing its leadership in the Syrian settlement due to the joint efforts made by Russia, Turkey and Iran.
"We’re still very active on the diplomatic front. We weren’t present at these discussions in Moscow, but that doesn’t mean that American diplomacy is now void and invalid and not a part of the larger, broader effort," Kirby stressed.
US State Department spokesperson said that the US certainly welcomes any progress towards a lasting peace in Syria. "The multilateral format that the United States has tried to put together still exists. Our bilateral and multilateral relationships with allies and partners in the region still exist," he added.
