Syria does not comply with the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and continues to use chemicals against citizens, as well as it also retain chemical weapons, the annual report on terrorism by the US State Department informs.
The report also notes that the US cannot confirm that Syria complies with its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention. "The United States believes that Syria systematically and repeatedly used chemical weapons against the Syrian people every year since joining the Convention, and thus it violated Article 1 of the Convention,'' the text of the report says, RIA Novosti reports.
