President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that the US and Europe refused to provide military aid to Kyiv due to the fact that there is nobody in Ukraine who can use it effectively.
According to the head of the Ukrainian state, Kyiv had no friends a year ago. "Nobody trusted us. When I invited our partners from the US and Europe to carry out our military assistance I was shocked when I receive the following answer: ‘‘No, we cannot help you,’’ Gazeta.ru cites Poroshenko as saying.
Poroshenko asked for clarification why Kyiv cannot receive this assistance, and he was answered that the country has no effective army that could efficiently use this assistance.
Ukrainian President also underlined that in this situation volunteers play a special role in the creation of a new army in Ukraine.
