US State department officials met with Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih in Jeddah to discuss maintaining a well-supplied oil market to guard against volatility and coordinating oil sanctions against Iran, US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said.

"State Department officials met with Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih in Jeddah to discuss maintaining a well-supplied oil market to guard against volatility, and coordinating U.S. oil sanctions to deprive the Iranian regime of terrorism funding revenues," Nauert said via Twitter.

Earlier, State Department Director of Policy Planning Brian Hook said the United States sought to reduce Iran's oil revenue to zero.
