US combat jet crashes in Nevada

A US F/A-18 fighter jet crashed about ten miles away during a training mission US state of Nevada on Tuesday, the US Navy said in a statement.

"An F/A-18C Hornet attached to the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) crashed about 10 miles southeast of Naval Air Station Fallon (NASF) at approximately 10:45 a.m. Aug. 2," Sputnik cited the statement as saying.

The crash happened during a routine training flight, the statement added.

The pilot ejected, and was taken to the hospital, but there is no word on his or her condition.
