US diverts 125 merchant vessels following resumption of Iran blockade

According to US Central Command, 125 merchant vessels have been diverted in the Strait of Hormuz since the maritime blockade of Iran resumed, including 10 in the last seven days.

"As of September 30, Central Command forces have diverted 125 commercial vessels to ensure strict compliance with established regulations",

CENTCOM said.

Since July, CENTCOM forces have diverted 142 compliant vessels, neutralised nine violators, and allowed over 50 commercial ships carrying humanitarian cargo to pass.
