According to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, the United States is introducing visa restrictions against a number of Georgian politicians and law enforcement officers. There are about 30 people on the list.

"Today we are taking steps to introduce visa restrictions against dozens of Georgian citizens... this first batch of visa restrictions applies to members of the Georgian Dream party in parliament, law enforcement officers and private individuals",

Miller said.

According to him, about 30 people are on the list. The United States will not notify Georgian citizens who are on the stop list.

Washington is "deeply concerned about the anti-democratic actions of the Georgian Dream party", he added.

According to a State Department representative, the United States does not dictate to Georgia what decisions to make, but makes its decisions in response to Tbilisi's actions.

In light of recent events, US financial assistance to Georgia is also subject to review, Miller noted.
