Russia has deployed its advanced TU-214R spy plane at a military base in Syria, CNN reports with reference to an anonymous US official.
According to the US media, the Russian aircraft has "all-weather radar systems and electro-optical sensors that produce photo-like imagery of large parts of the ground." In addition, the Tu-214R can track US aircraft.
The channel added that the information about the presence of such an aircraft at the Hmeimim military base hasn't been confirmed yet, Gazeta.ru reports.
