The results of the presidential elections in Iran will not affect US policy towards the Islamic Republic, TASS stated, citing an official from the US State Department.

He also noted that US concerns regarding Iran remained unchanged. However, according to the source, Washington is committed to diplomacy when it meets the interests of the United States.

The source also stressed that US authorities did not expect fundamental changes in Iran or greater respect for human rights after the elections.
