The US Navy has conducted a successful test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Trident II near the southern coast of California, NBC reported today citing the official representative of the US Navy Ryan Perry.
"The planned test launch of a Trident II missile was carried out from the nuclear submarine 'Kentucky' of the 'Ohio' class, TASS quoted the representative of the Navy as saying.
The direction of the missile's flight and specific location of its launch have not been specified.
