US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Samantha Power, said that the country is going to host a summit on the global migrant crisis.
"At today's session of the UN Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Syria, I announced that US President Barack Obama plans to hold a summit on the global migrant crisis," RIA Novosti cited her as saying.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, said that nearly one million people have arrived in Europe this year, and more than 500 thousand of them are Syrians.
