The US and the EU will hold a meeting in Washington on September 9 to discuss increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, AP reports.
According to media reports, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently met with White House and State Department officials, where they addressed the topic of frozen Russian assets.
Scott Bessent had previously noted that the effectiveness of new restrictions against Russia would depend on the actions of the European Union.
President Donald Trump previously stated his readiness to implement a "second phase" of sanctions against Moscow.
