Ukraine won’t fine Aeroflot for flights to Crimea

The Supreme Administrative Court has cancelled the decision of the previous Ukrainian authorities to recover fines from the Russian airline Aeroflot for flying to Crimea.

Earlier, the State Aviation Service of Ukraine fined Russian airlines 261,500,000 hryvna (about $17 million) for flights to Crimea. The Federal Air Transport Agency stated that the State Aviation Service of Ukraine won't be entitled to fine airlines of the Russian Federation, as they carry out flights in the airspace of the Russian Federation. Crimea has became a Russian region according to the referendum in March 2014. The Ukrainian authorities still consider the peninsula as a part of their country, RIA Novosti reports.
