No one has ever been able to intimidate Russia or break it, they cannot do it now, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, the representative of the executive body of the Republic of Dagestan, Ilyas Umakhanov, said during a meeting of members of the Federation Council and State Duma deputies.
"A lot of people in this room know what terrorism is. We went through the pain of the Kizlyar and Beslan tragedies, attacks in Moscow and Volgograd. We have not forgotten how difficult it is when a misery comes into your own house, and we are able to sympathize when a misery comes into a neighbor's house. Defenseless elderly, women and children are a favorite target of terrorists," the senator said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council noted that it's possible to communicate with terrorists in their own language – the language of force, but dialogue is impossible.
"I support the proposal on establishing an international tribunal to condemn terrorist crimes. The sentence should have no statute of limitations, pardons or amnesty. It is necessary to create special prisons for terrorists, we cannot hold them with other convicts," Umahanov concluded.
