Unmanned reconnaissance plane shot down in western Iran

The Iranian military stated today that they have shot down an unmanned reconnaissance plane near the western border of the country.

“Iranian Air Defense Forces shot down an unidentified unmanned aircraft which entered Iranian territory to provide reconnaissance,” IRNA reports, citing Farzad Fereduni, the Commander of the Air Defense Forces of Kermanshah Province, RIA Novosti reports.

The Commander didn’t mention what country could provide reconnaissance over Iranian territory. In recent years the Iranian authorities have many times stated that they have shot down US and Israeli unmanned aircraft.
