Upper Lars border crossing reopens to all traffic

The Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border has reopened to all types of vehicles, according to the press service of the North Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The lifting of restrictions allows the resumption of truck traffic through the crossing.

The press-service confirmed that the road on the Georgian side has been cleared, and vehicles can now safely pass in both directions.

The section of road between Vladikavkaz and the town of Lars was reopened in both directions at 15:20 Moscow time.

 

The temporary ban on truck movement through this section was initially imposed yesterday at 18:15 Moscow time.
