Upper Lars checkpoint closed due to bad weather

Traffic of all types of vehicles along the Georgian Military Highway has been stopped, the EMERCOM in North Ossetia reports.

"The road was closed at 5:00 PM MSK in the area Vladikavkaz-Lars in the direction to the exit from the Russian Federation in connection with the deteriorating weather conditions in Georgia,'' RIA Novosti cites the agency's report.

Rescuers advise avoiding travelling in this direction until the situation improves.
