Today a spokesman for Azerbaijan Railways Nadir Azmammadov informed about plans for the delivery of 100 freight carriages to Russia this year in accordance with the agreement on cooperation signed with the Uralvagonzavod.
"Under the contract, Azerbaijan should receive 3,100 freight carriages of different types, including tanks, open wagons, platforms for transportation of containers, grain, etc. 3,000 carriages have already been delivered to Azerbaijan and they are used now. The remaining 100 cars will be delivered in several batches this year,’’ he said.
According to Trend, Azmammadov also noted that Azerbaijan Railways will continue to update these carriages.
Recall that the first contract for the delivery of freight cars was signed by the companies in March 2015. Signatures were put under the document by the chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov and CEO of Uralvagonzavod Oleg Siyenko.
The first delivery of cars was on April 25, 2015. Since that time 301 carriers gated 200 large containers, 1,000 gondola cars, 450 tanks, 204 grain and 100 hopper carriages for the transportation of mineral fertilizers were imported to Azerbaijan.
