Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to increase border customs posts' capacity

The authorities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed to increase the border customs posts' capacity.

This was reported by the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan following the meeting of the heads of sectoral and territorial departments of the two countries' customs services, as well as border customs posts.

Currently, there are 10 customs posts and 2 customs points on the Uzbek-Kazakh border, on average they allow 2,700 vehicles and 7,200 passengers to pass per day.

The problems that hinder the increase in the capacity of border customs posts, promising joint tasks, reconstruction and modernization of facilities were discussed during the meeting. The parties also paid attention to the issue of creating conveniences for drivers and citizens moving across the border between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
