The State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development of Uzbekistan denied rumours that the country had banned the export of eggs.
In early January, a number of local media informed that a ban on egg export was introduced in Uzbekistan until April 1, 2022. According to the reports, the ban was introduced during the Cabinet meeting on December 16, 2021. Allegedly, this measure was taken to stabilize the rise in egg prices in the country.
There are no verbal or written bans on the export of eggs, the state committee informs.
"Also, no restrictions were introduced by the committee in relation to egg exporters," the department reports.
