Presidential election in Uzbekistan will be held on December 4, the chairman of the Central Asian republic’s Central Election Commission said Friday, adding that the campaign kicks off immediately, Sputnik reports.
"In accordance with the Central Election Commission’s decision and the corresponding articles of the Constitution and the law on presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan, set December 4 as the day of the presidential elections," Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov told reporters.
Abdusalomov said the election campaign kicks off on September 9.
