Ten vehicle inspection centres were issuing fake certificates of road worthiness, the Investigation Service of Georgia’s Ministry of Finance said, based on monitoring studies conducted in different regions of Georgia.
The violations were uncovered in Tbilisi, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Imereti, Kakheti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions, Agenda.ge reported.
The investigation continues and the charges provide for imprisonment from 4 to 6 years. Mandatory vehicle inspections started in Georgia from January 1, 2018.
