Strong support of Azerbaijani fans helped to perform great at the World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku, Azerbaijani gymnast Veronica Zemlyanaya, who won silver medal together with Svetlana Makshtarova, said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"The support was tremendous. It feeld really great when you hear such support," she said.
"I have a great mood right, because I worried about performing in pairs, since it's a double responsibility. I worried that will let Svetlana down, but everything turned out well, even better than yesterday," she stressed.
Veronika lives in Baku for only six months. "I lived in Russia, Krasnodar, before that. I have a sports family, I trained with a wonderful coach, Vitaly Fedorovich Dubko, since I was 11. I stopped training at some point, then started it once again, and Dubko told me: go to Azerbaijan. I packed up and moved to Baku. I'm very glad that I did this, because Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation is doing a great job and helps athletes," she concluded.
