On September 19, Turkish media reported that maritime transit through the Bosphorus Strait had been temporarily halted.
The General Directorate of Coastal Safety confirmed that the strait is currently closed to all vessel traffic in both directions.
According to TRT Haber, the suspension resulted from a towed vessel departing the port of Haydarpaşa.
Normal traffic flow is expected to resume once this process is complete.
