New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said Saturday that the number of new coronavirus deaths in the state remains “obnoxiously and terrifyingly high” even as the state begins to see a dip in new cases, The Hill informs.
Cuomo reported that 299 people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, which is slightly higher than the 289 the state reported Friday. Of those newly reported deaths, 276 happened in hospitals and 23 in nursing homes.
