Today a member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, a representative of the executive body of state power of the Orel Region, senator Vladimir Krugly, visited the studio of Vestnik Kavkaza. During the program Tribune he spoke about the current issues of Russian healthcare, as well as his Caucasian experience.
Vladimir Krugly said that he visited the Caucasus in 1979 for the first time, when he drove across the USSR on a motorcycle as part of a tourist group. "We spent a lot of time then in the Caucasus. We visited Chechnya, Dagestan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia. We have been in Gori, in Yerevan, Tbilisi, Baku, we drove through all the republics – and people treated us like we are their brothers. We did not think that it is dangerous to travel in the Caucasus, we hadn't got any weapons," the senator said.
"In the evenings we set up camp, put up tents. People came to us, they brought food, invited us to their homes, it was such a friendly attitude," he stressed.
According to the senator, now he also visits the Caucasus during the sessions of the Federation Council. "It is a pity that these trips are always very short. Of course, it's always business, but a warm chat with experts, though it's hard to assess the modern Caucasus for just a few hours. The Caucasus is a very interesting area which I will visit again for sure," Vladimir Krugly promised.
The member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy said that the Mobile Diagnostic Center of Orel Children's Hospital, which recently visited Crimea, might visit Chechnya in the near future.
"Our specialist, the chief physician of the clinic, will leave for a few days for the Chechen Republic to discuss the precise routes, determine convenient access and so on. This is a charity action, the region does not pay anything to the doctors. I think that the doctors will visit Chechnya with the same enthusiasm," Vladimir Krugly concluded.
