Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to discuss the implementation of the trilateral agreements with Armenia on security on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.
"The presidents discussed issues of the practical implementation of the agreements that were reached by the Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders in Sochi on October 31 and their previous statements. They sides stressed the importance of continuing efforts in the trilateral format to ensure security on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and to restore transport ties in the South Caucasus," it said.
Apart from that, the leaders discussed prospects for the further development of cooperation in the energy sector, the Kremlin added.
