Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theatre of Anton Chekhov, Oleg Tabakov, who is now 80 years old.
"An extremely talented and energetic man, you have succeeded in acting and the directing, and the pedagogical field. You have truly won nationwide love. But like a true master, you never 'rest on your laurels', you do not stop at what you have already achieved, but work a lot and work fruitfully, unite adherents around your interesting ideas and creative designs. And always you achieve success," TASS quoted the text of congratulation.
Oleg Tabakov is an outstanding Russian film and theater actor, director and teacher. He has been awarded the titles of People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR and Russia, and numerous theater and film awards.
