Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the students of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). Speaking to the students, the President noted that education is a path to better results.
"Education is an area that gives a great opportunity to achieve the best results," Putin said.
Vladimir Putin was presented with a black belt in judo master of sports and an invitation to hold judo workshops at MSU. "Thank you for the gift. We maintain very good relations with Japanese judokas. We agreed with Olympic champion Yasuhiro Yamashita to hold a judo tournament in the Far East dedicated to the Far Eastern Economic Forum," the President noted.
"Europe should be united despite all the attempts to build any kinds of new walls," the Russian leader stressed, calling the work of the search teams "very important, noble and useful."
"It is very important that justice is served in respect of those people who went missing, they should not be unknown," he said, adding that this work needs to continue in the future.
"People should always remember…the combat actions are conducted - and the history is written by those who are alive, but those who are alive should never forget about those who gave them this possibility," TASS cited Putin as saying.
After that, a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Moscow State University was held, during which Vladimir Putin noted the support of the country's best university by members of the Board of Trustees. "We must be grateful to the Moscow State University, because it has given us such an honor - to support a leading higher education institution of our country. The Board throughout the year supports the Moscow State University, carries out a joint work in the most promising areas and researches, creates infrastructure," he recalled.
The Board of Trustees of MSU consists of the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin, the head of VTB Andrey Kostin, the head of Rusal Oleg Deripaska, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of RussNeft Mikhail Gutseriev, the President of Transneft Nikolay Tokarev, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina, the general director of the Russian Fund of Direct investment Kirill Dmitriev and others.
