Vladimir Putin sent his deepest condolences on the passing of Georgiy Daneliya to the legendary film director’s family and dear ones, Kremlin website reported.
he message reads, in part:
“An outstanding film director and scriptwriter and a very special person, Georgiy Daneliya created films that have become true landmarks in the national film industry. All his life and work were filled with deep respect for the values of humanism, the arts and his audiences.”
Georgiy Daneliya was a Soviet/Russian film director, actor, scriptwriter, People’s Artist of the Soviet Union, winner of the USSR State Prize, the Russian Federation State Prize (1997) and prizes of international film festivals.
