Vladimir Vladimirov: business projects with South Caucasus appear every day

Stavropol Territory is currently actively developing economic contacts with South Caucasus, elected governor of the Territory Vladimir Vladimirov said, answering question from Vestnik Kavkaz about Stavropol's business relations with neighbors in the North and South Caucasus.

"Speaking about South Caucasus, Azerbaijan is one of the importers of Stavropol's grain, as well as huge hub for our grain that's going to Iran. Stavropol Territory accounts for 40% of Russian chicken meat exports, and this export also goes through Azerbaijan," he noted.

“We have friendly relations with Armenia, because Stavropol Territory has very large Armenian diaspora and many Armenian businessmen are working here. Right now we're working on opening production of fur products in cooperation with Armenia and Turkey - this is a very important project, since we will finally bring out all manufacturers of fur products from shadow market and give them a platform," Vladimir Vladimirov said.

Governor of Stavropol stressed that business projects with South Caucasus appear all the time. "For example, sanatorium is being built with participation of businessmen from Azerbaijan. Businessmen from Armenia are developing greenhouse in our country. Not to mention our neighbors - we all have mutual business ties, exchange goods, creat dialogue between businessmen and people. For example, businessman from Ingushetia who builds roads is now investing in an area in Zheleznovodsk, and then we plan to aks him to prepare five sites for construction of sanatoriums," he said.

"The most important thing is that we have mutual understanding, we understand how to resolve conflicts. It's great when the head of one subject can call head of another and speak about current situation. It's very good that our business is growing together with entrepreneurs from other regions and states. As for our partners from the former Soviet Union, we really like that they come to us and invest in the Stavropol Territory," he concluded.
