Volleyball player Vladimir Shkurikhin dies

Today, a 59-year old honored master of sports of the USSR, silver medalist of the 1988 Olympic Games Vladimir Shkurikhin, died, the media reported with a reference to the press service of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation.

Shkurikhin won the World Cup in 1982. He was a four-time European champion.

During his career, he played for CSKA Moscow, Rostov SKA, Moscow Region Dynamo, which four times became a silver medalist of the USSR championship and owner of the Cup Winners Cup in 1985, and Sochi's Rexon, Gazeta.ru reports.
