Beijing will maintain economic relations with Tehran in spite of pressures from the U.S., Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed bilateral economic relations and the latest status of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
"The positions of all parties are highly consistent, and new consensus has been formed," Wang said, noting that all parties have reaffirmed to continue to safeguard and implement the Iran deal.
All parties have deeply regretted the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, while recognizing that Iran has fulfilled its nuclear commitments under the deal," Xinhua cited Wang as saying.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
