The United States has urged Russia to influence the Syrian authorities so that they provide the international community with an opportunity to ensure a continuous supply of humanitarian aid to the needy population of Syria.
At a regular briefing for journalists, the chief of the press service of the US State Department, John Kirby, actually blamed the government in Damascus for the fact that the residents of Madai, in the capital of the province of Rif Dimashq, are dying because of hunger.
"The practice of broken promises used by Damascus must stop," TASS quoted him as saying.
